Dear Global Members,

We have amazing news and we are so excited to share it with you today! The Spring of 2019 will definitely go down in history as a landmark season and a watershed moment for Global Network of Christian Ministries (GNCM) and the Destiny Church and Ministers Network!

It has always been the desire of GNCM to provide as many opportunities as possible for its members. But year-by-year, through each subsequent administration, this desire has been frustrated by the fact that GNCM does not have the fulltime staff or the funding system to help to make this dream become a reality. In the Fall of 2018 Global Chairman, Pastor Mark Briggs, felt led of the Lord to approach Destiny Director, Dr. Phil Brassfield, and suggest the consolidation of Global with Destiny as a possible option. Dr. Brassfield said he would pray about the idea, and after careful thought and prayer agreed that God was in the move. The proposal was then presented to the Global Board of directors and then to Destiny’s Board. After many hours of prayer, consultation and a careful legal review by Counsel for each organization working independent of each other, the path was cleared and the respective Boards approved the proposal and subsequent plans for consolidation.  And here we are today on the brink of a new season for a new combined network of Christian Leaders with a Kingdom assignment! Global Network is consolidating into Destiny Ministries!

We believe that working together as Destiny, we can better serve the needs of ministers, churches and Christian Leaders who desperately need fellowship, pastoral care and ministry support. By coming together, Global brings an expanded footprint to Destiny with a presence in numerous foreign countries and members in over 39 states. Destiny, on the other hand, already has the fulltime staff and support systems in place and for over almost 20 years has been a globally recognized leader in the area of ministers, ministry and church development. In June, Destiny will host its 20th Conference that has grown in attendance with each passing year. Destiny offers a wide range of opportunities and programs designed to help ministers and churches maximize their potential, like coaching, educational programs, missions opportunities and trips, along with educational and fellowship travel events. Moreover, Global and Destiny have consistently worked very closely over the last nearly twenty years. In fact, Destiny Director, Dr. Phil Brassfield served on the Global Board and Counsel of Elders for over ten years and has deep existing relationships inside of the Global Network.

All of this gives support to the idea that the time has come to be one.

Questions & Answers

Why did Global choose to consolidate with Destiny?2019-03-06T00:38:08+00:00

It’s always been the desire of GNCM to provide as many opportunities as possible for its members. But year-by-year, through each subsequent administration, this desire has been frustrated by the fact that GNCM does not have the fulltime staff or the funding system to help to make this dream become a reality. In the fall of 2018, the Leadership of GNCM, after many hours of prayer, consultation and careful introspection, determined that the best way to achieve these goals was to consolidate with an organization that had the dedicated team and the systems in place to meet these needs.

Why Destiny?2019-03-06T00:38:51+00:00

Destiny has the fulltime staff and support systems in place to accomplish the goal of serving, covering and providing support for ministers and churches. It has, after almost twenty years, become a globally recognized leader in the area of ministers, ministry and church development. Destiny offers a wide range of opportunities and programs designed to help ministers and churches maximize their potential. Moreover, Global and Destiny have worked very closely over the last nearly twenty years. In fact, Destiny Director, Dr. Phil Brassfield served on the Global Board and Counsel of Elders for over ten years and has deep existing relationships inside of the Global Network. Destiny was the logical option.

What was the process and who made the decision?2019-03-06T00:39:25+00:00

After a thorough legal review by attorneys for both groups working independent of each other, it was determined that the respective Boards of Directors could make the decision they felt necessary to protect the best interest of the Global constituents and to position them to have their needs met.  A step-by-step plan was approved by leadership (the Board of Directors) from both organizations and set in motion.

Will my Global Minister’s Credential (License or Ordination) transfer directly into Destiny?2019-03-06T00:40:02+00:00

Yes. If you are a current member of Global Network of Christian Ministries, your current ministry credential will automatically transfer to The Destiny Church and Minister’s Network on the effective date (June 6th 2019).

What can I expect as a member of Destiny?2019-03-06T00:41:36+00:00

Dr. Phil Brassfield answering said,As the Director of Destiny, let me say without hesitation that at Destiny our desire is to provide a dynamic, interactive and robust ministry experience for all members of Global who transition into Destiny. Of course it should be understood, as with any organization, the more you put in (participate), the more you will get out. But, with that said, we are committed to walking members through the process of connecting with Destiny as openly and clearly as possible. Our staff is absolutely committed to serving the great men and women of Global with our whole hearts! Welcoming them with open arms and open hearts to the Destiny Covenant Family of Friends.  Click this link to see this year’s schedule of events and activities being offered.”

What about Fees and Dues?2019-03-06T00:42:18+00:00

The Global Members who have renewed this year will have their membership honored without additional change in 2019. Beginning in 2020, the schedule of fees and financial commitments will adjust to the Destiny funding system. This is time proven and has positioned Destiny to provide the support that all members of our ministry network need.  The Destiny funding system is a combination of an annual certification fee and monthly support from members to the Network. The annual certification fees are used to subsidize Destiny’s annual Gathering and for the purchase of facilities and equipment to do the job of serving members. Members’ monthly support covers the on-going expenses of operating the ministry including human resource, operational expenses and organizational giving. For example, as a rule Destiny invests 20% of unrestricted contributions in missions, church planting, pastors in crisis, disaster relief and various other benevolence outreaches. The monthly member support allows us to live out our creed, “Let’s Do Something Great Together!”

Destiny Annual Certification Fees are:

General License – $50 and a monthly tithe/offering to be determined by the Member.

Ordination – $75 and a monthly tithe/Offering to be determined by the Member.

Churches covered by our 501 (c) 3 – $100 and a monthly tithe/offering to be determined by the member church.

How do I determine the amount to give monthly?2019-03-06T00:43:00+00:00

The amount committed by the member is always at the discretion of the member.  But, generosity is a core value of the Destiny family and this faithful support has positioned us to serve more effectively with greater reach through the years. We believe that God’s idea for ministry funding is still the best. Therefore, as a Covenant Family we affirm the concept of first fruits giving and believe that every field with the potential to harvest has a responsibility to sow, be it an individual or institution. Therefore, we practice tithing at every level of the Kingdom. We believe that in creating a culture of generosity and obedience to tithe, we acknowledge God as first in our lives and ministries, and as the only source of both present and continual blessing and provision.

Therefore, we ask all members to support Destiny monthly as a portion of their personal tithe/offering. We suggest 3%, but are grateful for whatever the member feels led to invest into the Kingdom through Destiny.

How can I get involved?2019-03-06T00:57:23+00:00

As we grow through the Global consolidation with Destiny, we will need lots of help and there are lots of ways you can get involved in a more meaningful way. First, make plans to attend our annual Gathering Conference. We also offer eight webinars through Destiny Leadership Institute suitable for you and your team to watch online. Stay plugged in through the Destiny Magazine; even submit an article for potential publication. The Magazine publishes quarterly. You can also submit an article through the Destiny Writers Collective. There are missions trip opportunities, educational travel and a range of regional local events to offer opportunities to network and connect with other Christian leaders. The bottom line is, be a joiner. Be a participant. Get plugged in and become active in the process as we grow together.
