About Destiny Ministries

Destiny Ministries is an inter-denominational, multi-racial Christian organization focused on leveraging resources toward common purposes in the Kingdom of God. We coach and train Christian leaders helping to develop higher levels of effectiveness and excellence in their personal, spiritual, and professional lives as well as provide opportunities for cooperative ministry activities. Our organization is composed of Christian leaders from virtually every stream of Christian faith and endeavor.

Destiny is your one-stop source for innovative cutting-edge ministry solutions. If you’re looking for leadership development, or maybe you need ministry credentials or legal covering for your Church or ministry. All these things are available through Destiny’s Church and Minister’s Network. We offer leadership training through our Leadership Institute, a wide variety of missions opportunities, as well as ministry enrichment seminars, ministry advances and conventions – all kinds of special events designed to help you be the very best you can be.

Our Philosophy of Ministry

Destiny Ministries follows an apostolic model in its approach to Christian ministry. This concept is currently sweeping the Christian world. Crossing both denominational and independent lines, apostolic groups such as Destiny are becoming a rallying point for networking leaders who are joining forces to accomplish God’s purposes in our generation. These groups are typically lead by an apostolic leader who casts vision for the group, identifies ministry opportunities, and facilitates ministry resources to meet the needs, thereby maximizing their impact for the Kingdom of God.

In Destiny, Dr. Phillip Brassfield leads a team of apostolic leaders who represent a wide variety of spiritual gifts and ministry callings into common endeavors. Planting churches, redeveloping existing churches, training Christian leaders, credentialling ministers, and planning special events all become part of the Destiny vision of ministries.

Value Driven Vision

A lot is said today about vision, but vision alone is not enough to keep a team in motion. There must be values behind the vision. If people are to embrace a long term vision and sustain a strong level of intensity, they must share the values that drive the vision.
A value (Destiny definition) is simply ‘what is important’. Each and every team member certainly has their own unique view as to what is important to them, but if they are to fit into a long term strategic plan within your organization they, in addition to their own values, must share the core values of the organization. Those values are really the locomotion behind your vision and the success of the organization.
There are certain core values that drive Destiny Ministries and those values are a force that holds us true to our mission. Below is a list of values that we share. They are the glue that holds us together as a family. Understanding the mission of Destiny Ministries is really impossible without sharing our values.

OUR VALUES

Relationships:

Our relationship with God and one another is our most powerful motivation. We believe that the Kingdom of God is best reflected in the context of a family or relationship. Therefore, we are committed to developing real relationships with real people and a real God. And ‘real’ is a key term. These kinds of relationships we value above projects and programs. We value individuals above agendas and believe that only in proper covenant relationship with others can we maximize our potential and seize our opportunities for the Kingdom.

Worship:

We believe that, as humans, worship is our highest and most noble expression of purpose. We place a high value on worshiping God and believe that as a group we are strengthened as we worship together. Therefore, we plan opportunities to worship together.

Integrity:

If we are to sustain real relationships with real people, we believe that integrity is an absolute must. People who do not value integrity will find Destiny uncomfortable. We value a Christian’s word, and trust their motives to first be Christ-o-centric before they are me-o-centric. This core value allows us to be whole people who work as a team with a redemptive purpose. This commitment includes sincerity with God, honesty with people and in finance, a lifestyle of responsibility, accountability and repentance.

Excellence:

Excellence is a commitment to do our very best every time. Therefore, we see ourselves as forever students – always seeking to learn and improve our abilities and skills. Our goal is to function at increasingly higher levels of effectiveness. This requires a pursuit of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding as well as Spiritual authenticity and fervency. We seek to create a culture where we are constantly being challenged with new ideas and insight, where a competitive spirit is resisted but competence is encouraged and expected.

Generosity:

As a Covenant Family, we affirm the concept of first fruits giving and believe that every field with the potential to harvest has a responsibility to sow, be it an individual or institution. Therefore we practice tithing at every level of the Kingdom. It is a concept that is one of the core values of the Scripture in both the Old and New Testaments. We believe that in creating a culture of generosity and obedience to tithe, we acknowledge God as first in our lives and ministries and as the only source of our blessing and provision.
These are a few of the values that make Destiny who we are. They are the values that drive our vision.

Our Vision and Mission

Habakkuk Chapter 2:2, “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.” The writer of Proverbs also says that “without a vision (prophetic revelation) the people perish.”

Vision is an essential component for achievement in the Kingdom. At Destiny we believe that for our organization’s vision to be shared with others and achieved collectively, it must be value driven. Its importance must be embraced by all associated with Destiny. Therefore our vision statement is a summation of our collective values. Each word carries meaning

Our Vision Statement

The vision of Destiny Ministries is “To develop excellent Christians who work together to fulfill the Great Commission.”

YOUR DESTINY TEAM

philcath3About Our Directors

For more than twenty five years, Dr. Phil and Cathy Brassfield have served the Lord in various ministry capacities. Having been raised in ministers’ homes, they have been in and around the work of the Lord their whole lives.

Phil was called by God at a young age to develop Leaders. He has been, for many years, a trailblazer and designer of innovative and nontraditional ministry and educational concepts. He has served in almost every position imaginable in the local church including Senior Pastor,  and in a variety of executive positions with three different non-traditional Christian Colleges whose primary focus was equipping leaders in partnership with the local church. As the Lord continued to develop him as a Leader, He eventually brought into clear focus Phil’s life vision and mission. That vision would prove to be Destiny Ministries.

In 1997 Destiny Ministries was birthed and today has grown into a globally recognized apostolic ministry committed to church planting, developing Christian Leaders and ministry efforts internationally. It also includes Destiny Leadership Institute, the division of the ministry that focuses on equipping emerging leaders through formal training and internships.

As a seminar and conference speaker, Phil addresses relevant issues confronting leaders in both the religious and secular arenas. He has been a PromiseKeeper speaker as well as ministering in many of America’s fastest-growing churches. His message of grace, hope, and love, coupled with keen insight into life’s fundamental issues, has offered a light of God’s direction to many on their voyage of life.

His wife, Cathy, holds degrees in Business and Biblical Studies,  and serves as a role model to countless women in ministry. She is an intercessor, and also manages the Destiny Business Office. They are blessed with two grown children and their families: Jordan and her husband, Scott, and their children Riley and Cooper;  Drew and his wife, Diana, and their children Noah, Jonah, and Judah.
